Disney Cruise line is known for being superior in customer service. We had the opportunity to cruise on the Disney Magic earlier this year. The Disney Magic is the first and smallest of the Disney fleet. It set sail in 1998 and boosts 875 staterooms with a passenger capacity of 2700. We had previously sailed on the Disney Wonder and the Disney Magic is the sister ship of the Wonder.
Disney Cruise is unique in that it offers rotational dining and world class entertainment. The Disney Magic is home to three main dining rooms, Rapunzel’s Royal Table, Animator’s Palate, and Lumiere’s. All three are included with your cruise fare. One of the amazing things about rotational dining is that you keep the same wait staff each night at main dining. The staff get to know you and your family and you truly build a relationship with them. Rapunzel’s Royal Table is located on deck 3 and is inspired by Tangled. The restaurant is beautifully decorated lanterns. The dinner includes a show with Rapunzel and Flinn Rider. It is very entertaining and one of the highlights of the cruise. The menu includes classics like prime rib, pasta, and vegetarian options. Rapunzel’s Royal Table is only located on the Disney Magic. Animator’s Palate is located on deck 4 and id dedicated to the magic of Disney animation. It is a fan favorite that is located on 4 Disney cruise ships. It serves a fusion of Pacific Island foods, Asian cuisine, and fresh California fare. Lumiere’s is Beauty and the Beast themed. Lumiere’s serves American and French cuisine, and also serves breakfast and lunch daily.
In addition to the main dining rooms the Disney Magic has a wonderful buffet, Cabanas, that is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Cabanas also offers a 24 hour soft drink station. It is located on deck 9 and offers above average cruise cuisine including fresh crab legs and shrimp which we enjoyed daily. The Disney Magic also offers quick service food options such as; Duck in Diner, Pinocchio’s Pizzeria, Daisy’s De-Lites, Eye Scream, and Frozone Treats. While all of these options are included Disney Magic does also offers a couple of options that are at an additional price. Palos is an upscale adult only dining option. Palos requires a reservation made well in advance. Preludes serves drinks, appetizers, and cocktails at an additional charge.
Like most cruise ships the Disney Magic offers a wide variety of staterooms; inside, oceanview, balcony, concierge, and suites. All levels of staterooms offer twice daily stateroom service and impeccable Disney customer service.
There are three shows on the Disney Magic. While these shows rotate occasionally they are always Broadway quality and must-sees! Currently the shows on the Disney Magic are: Tangled: The Musical, Disney Dreams, and Twice Charmed: An Original Twist on the Cinderella Story. These amazing shows are breathtaking and magical.
The Disney Magic is perfect for cruisers of all ages, but especially magical for children. The ship offers kids clubs for all ages. It’s a Small World Nursery is the only club that charges a fee. It is open for cruisers ages 6 months – 3 years. It offers quality care and convenience. Disney’s Oceaneer Club and Oceaneer Lab is for ages 3-12, and children must be potty trained to attend. The two clubs are connected by private walkway only accessible by campers. Both offer tons of fun activities such as Marvel camp, toys, games, planned activities, and Disney movies. Club Edge is for Tweens and also offers activities for ages 11-14. Club Vibe is for teens ages 14-17. It has an urban loft feel and host video games and a large flatscreen television.
There are 3 pools, 3 hot tubs, and a splash area located on the Disney Magic. The Aqualab is an area for younger cruisers. Goofy’s pool is a family pool located on deck 9 midship. Nephew’s Splash Zone is for the under 3 set. Quiet Cove pool is located in the adult only area of the ship. It also boosts two water slides the Twist and Spout and the Aquadunk.
Everyday in the Disney Cruise app cruisers have access to the Navigator. The Navigator is the daily schedule of all the activities going on the ship. There are so many activities that your day will be filled to the brim. Another thing that makes cruising on the Disney Magic special is of course the Disney activities. One of the most special activities is the character meet and greet opportunities. The times for these character interactions and photo opportunities are all listed with times and locations in the daily Navigator.
Our cruise was out of Galveston. It was a four night cruise to Cozumel. It was a truly magical experience. While Disney cruises typically cost more than other cruise lines they also offer the best in customer service and satisfaction. This was our third Disney Cruise and everyone was phenomenal. We highly recommend Disney Cruise Line and the Disney Magic and can’t wait until the next time we are onboard!
