Planning a trip to Disney World? There are dozens of on property hotels to choose from. Disney’s Art of Animation offers a unique experience. The resort opened in 2012 and boast nearly 2000 family suites and 864 standard Little Mermaid Rooms. The family suites are divided into three sections: Cars, Finding Nemo, and The Lion King. The suites can sleep up to six with a queen size bed in the master, and pull out double sleeper couch, and a table that also converts to a double bed. They run 565 sq ft and depending on the season run from $428 to almost $800 nightly. The Little Mermaid standard rooms can sleep up to four with either two queen beds or one king. These rooms are 277 sq ft. They run between $200 and $350.
Find yourself surrounded by Disney and Pixar enchantment and animation. Explore storybook landscapes. Every section has a huge themed area outside that is worth a visit to the resort just to see. You are transported into the movies. Art of Animation is home to the largest resort pool at Walt Disney World. The pool is Finding Nemo themed. There are also two smaller pools, but no hot tubs. There is a food court with 5 distinct food shops. One of the best perks of staying at the Art of Animation Resort is that it is connected to the Disney Skyliner. The resort is also one of the few on property resorts that are pet friendly.
We stayed in a Little Mermaid room and it decorated with cute touches throughout the room. There is a small beverage cooler. It is perfect for two, but a bit crowded with four. Art of Animation is a really fun resort to stay at. While it is considered a value, it is often referred to a value plus and being the newest value is usually also the most expensive. The family suites usually run more than the moderates. However, you can’t beat the theming at Art of Animation. It is really fun to explore the resort and take pictures of all the icons. The resort also offers movies under the stars at the main pool and marshmallow roasting nightly. Guests also enjoy complimentary transportation to the parks. The resort is right across the street from ESPN Wide World of Sports at 1850 Animation Way, Lake Buena Vista. We very much enjoyed our stay and plan to return to Art of Animation.
